Post-Mayhem Monday

This past weekend I attended the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with my good friend and concert buddy Spank when the show rolled through Atlanta. I had an amazing time, and plan to post about it once I am home and can collect and compose my thoughts - I'm currently still in Atlanta at Spank's place and blogging from her computer. (Hi, Spank! I'm not even gone yet and I miss you already! ::mwah:: ) She and I have dished about the show at her place, so you should check that out if you get a chance. And if you have a sense of humor :)

In the meantime, it's Music Monday again. The theme for the 100th week is "Gone but not forgotten - featuring music from artists who have passed recently. Unfortunately, there are far too many of these.

The Rules:

1.  You Tube, and lock & load!
2.   Grab "Monday's Music Moves Me" Button.
3.   SIGN LINKY, Follow us, & Rockin' comment are good!
4.  Finally, Boogie down to your Fellow Rockin' Bloggers. Also, bring some back with you to join us!

Slipknot - Duality
(Paul Gray, 1972 - 2010)

I know I keep giving you Slipknot videos during my Music Monday posts, but the theme makes this entirely appropriate. At the show this weekend, the band played "Duality" in tribute to Paul Gray while the backdrop changed to a giant "2" (Gray's stage persona was #2). I don't think they ever perform without honoring his memory.

The Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated
(Joey Ramone, 1951 - 2001)

My first real rock star crush. Peter Criss from Kiss (before the makeup came off) doesn't count - I "liked" whoever the babysitter's daughter liked, because she was older and knew best. And I was just annoying that way!

Type O Negative - Wolf Moon
(Peter Steele, 1962 - 2010)

My forever rock star crush. One of the best memories of my entire life revolves around a Type O show, and I am SO thankful I've been able to see them live several times.

Be sure to come by XMas Dolly's place to play along and find some new music to listen to :)

  1. Cannot say I am a SlipKnot fan but hey, you like who you like. The Ramones are cool and had not heard the last one although, I know who Peter Steele is!
    Rock on!
    THanks for playing.

  3. Okay, new ones here too. I better get up with the program here and get a wider variety, so I guess that's why I got all of you to help me along. Great Choices thanks for sharing. Don't forget our give-aways for our 100th week celebration GOOD LUCK AND see you next time.

    1. Well....it's nice to hear new things, sure, but not all music is for everybody. I always try to find something I like about anything new I hear, but I can definitely see where most of what I like is probably an acquired taste for someone who didn't just find it on their own.

    1. Haha, yes.....but it was a total little-girl crush. At that point I could probably have told you anything you asked me about Peter Criss, and got so excited whenever I'd hear Kiss mentioned anywhere!

    1. I am glad you found something to like! Especially as the last one does not seem to be of the best quality, sound-wise (I was on another computer and didn't have my headphones with me, so I couldn't tell what it really sounded like). I may try to correct that at some point, just so it doesn't bother me. Haha.

  7. Interesting selections. I'm not at all familiar with these, so it's nice to see the tribute you paid for some of your musical talents who have passed through the Pearlie Gates. Keep their music & spirit alive by remembering them always! May they RIP!!

    1. That's what it's all about, right? Tuning in to some stuff we otherwise wouldn't hear. I love it!
