Oh...just a few favorite things!

Today over at Time Out For Mom, the Coffee Chat theme is "Favourite things. What are you loving these days?"

Well, for starters I am pretty excited about my recent seven pound weight loss. I have plateaued at the end of my second week, which I am NOT loving, but I'm trying to find creative ways to get the pounds falling off once again, because I really loved stepping on the scale and seeing the number move in a favorable direction. And I do NOT want to be caught at the same (or greater) number at the end of week three.

But that's not all!

I love all this rain we've been having. Really, I do. I just wish there were more thunderstorms, and I do wish I could get a break from it for a day or two so that I can get the lawn mowed. But still - yes, I love.

TV. Oh boy, the deliciousness on tv (and Netflix): Criminal Minds. Secrets and Lies. Black Sails. Outlander. Bloodline. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Vikings. And Justified. In fact, tonight is the SERIES FINALE of Justified, and I am really sad to see my years-long tradition of Tuesday night dates with Raylan Givens come to a close. But...it is the way of things, no? I will definitely miss Raylan, but we can revisit from time to time. And for the time being? There's still Morgan, Reid, Ragnar and Jamie...

The THRIFTING/treasure-hunting....always, ALWAYS with the thrifting. I have a serious addiction! But before I become a Buried Alive-worthy hoarder, I plan on passing my thrifty finds on to others via an Etsy Shoppe I have in the works. (By "in the works" I mean, I'm in the thinking stages right now. And waiting on a day off where I don't have a million chores and errands to get caught up on, which also has to be somewhat sunny. I need natural light to successfully photograph the things I'm selling - staging only goes so far!)

So this is the part where I whore out post another blurb about this coming Thursday's Thrift Score Thursday. My best score of the year, and probably my second-best in all my years of treasure hunting! I posted a sneak peek yesterday if you're interested in trying to figure out what it is beforehand - but be sure to come back Thursday to see what it is and read all about it!

What are YOU loving these days?

  1. Wow, you're seriously into tv shows, huh? Well, I admit there was time when I was, too. Without a tv, not so much anymore. But sure, yes, we do watch Netflix, out of all the series you mentioned there is one: Viking - LOL
Thrifiting is something I totally do not get. I just have to think about 'dust collecting' and am totally turned off. Good luck with your Etsy endeavours! After about 4 years, I think I will be leaving them, but photography on there is different.

    1. TOTAL TV addict. Not even ashamed. I've earned it!

Sorry you are leaving Etsy after such a stretch, but you have to do what is best for you and your art. I am looking at some alternatives, but all the other Etsy sellers I know have good things to say about their experiences, and it seems like the safest and least expensive bet to resell vintage.

  2. WooHoo! Another TV-aholic like me. I always say that I watch way more TV now than the 'normal' person because I was deprived of it growing up (my dad got rid of our TV because he said it was evil). Of course it curated our imagination and reading, so that was good, but now I have so many favorite TV shows I'm hooked on - and you like many of the same ones I do! :)

And you GO! on the reduction scale. ;)

It's been a long time since I've been Thrifting - I think I'm gonna have to step up the pace. ;) And I can't wait to see how your Etsy shop comes together! I've had an Etsy shop in mind for a while myself - like you, I haven't found (or made) the time to put one together. One of these days! :)

    1. Yay for tv! I tell myself it's okay because I still spend a decent amount of time reading and doing other productive things - not to mention my children are adults now, so I've earned it! I just need to pace myself. I marathon when I can, but there are so many on the list I'll never get to them all.

Heh, growing up, I only had four stations: ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS. My Dad had cable, so I got to watch premium channels and MTV every other weekend. I was so jealous of my step siblings for having it all the time (not that they could watch everything all the time, but still..)

  3. You know, after having read this, it's put me in the mood for a marathon run of TV show episodes. Sod sleep! I'll starting with The Mentalist and OITNB - from the pilot till now!

    1. I have seen a few episodes of The Mentalist because my oldest son loves it - and I love it myself. I am going to start from the beginning one of these days!

  4. TV I don't know about. Weight loss I don't know about. "Thrifting" I don't know about either. But BOTB? BOTB I know about. Hope to see ya there tomorrow, KIM. Be there or... be somewheres else.

  5. I have been pleasantly surprised with Secrets and Lies! It's one of my favorites I listed! Who do you think killed Tom??

    1. I have NO IDEA who killed Tom. I think it's someone different every week or so. I thought Matty did it at first, and I am suspicious of Dave. I honestly don't know who it could be. What about you?

  6. well first of all I am loving your musical selection today!!! Billy!!! Love the Pumpkins!

congrats on the weight loss - awesome. I'm at a plateau too -- so frustrating!! So I actually am taking a few days off - since I seemed to have caught a cold too - and will look for a new program to kick my routines up a notch. hubby tells me I have to shock my body. that doesn't sound fun at all.

And I do love my TV too...although different shows -- with the exception of Morgan. because reasons!! :)

    1. Yeah, shocking the body, keeping it guessing....lots of trainers seem to agree on that one! I don't work out, so I guess I could shock my body just by doing exercise besides going to work and all the moving around that I do there, haha!

I'm actually surprised we don't have more in common in our tv likes! LOL. But Morgan is reason enough to watch Criminal Minds! Morgan and Reid.
