Inspired by the weather

This past week it was pretty cold. But just pretty cold; not unbearably cold. Thank goodness! My whole world seems to shut down when it gets unbearably cold. I'll barricade myself in my bedroom under my covers, which is wonderful for my reading and getting caught up on tv, but pretty bad for blogging and bloghopping and returning social media messages and emails. I tend to avoid the computer when I'm in my little sanctuary, even though I have it with me in there.

So the weather has been pretty mild and today (yesterday by the time most people will see this) we had a pretty long sunshower, which I took a photo of while walking the dogs. I didn't manage to get any rain drops, but it was slightly more than sprinkling. The link goes to the Wikipedia page on sunshowers, and I was only familiar with the Southern U.S. folklore of the devil beating his wife. But it seems while the devil was busy beating his wife today, lots of foxes and hyenas and old ladies and dogs were apparently getting married. And some animals were giving birth! But I rather like the Hawaiian idea of "Ghost Rain" or "Liquid Sunshine." Anyway, today's sunshower totally inspired my Music Monday selection. I've always loved this song, but haven't heard it in probably a dozen years - maybe even more! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Chris Cornell has such a seriously amazing voice.

Remember, life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

  1. I must say that this is a new tune for me my friend. Truly very deep also and if you listen clearly you can hear the message. Oh yes, I think I'm going to have to play this one again. I'm likin' it! Thanks for sharing my friend and have a rockin' week.

    1. I like it/them, too, Naila. I do see them a few times per year, but they're never a given and are still not all that common. I love it!

  5. Nice new tune to me. As kids, we always recited that old folk lore, The devil is beating his wife and even today I say it in my mind when these two acts of nature collide. The weekends I pretty much unplug from the net to spend the time with DH, so I can relate to your cozy little hold ups. Thanks for allowing me dance with you this morning and here's hoping the skies over head are beautiful as pictured in your photo.

    1. No rain today, and sunny-ish skies this late afternoon. I really feel for the people in the Northeast who are about to get some serious snow, though!

I don't blame you for unplugging on the weekends. No one seems to be around the blogosphere then. As for me, I am usually working.

  6. I"m like you, I don't like to touch anything cold when it's cold and I'm in my blankets.
    Thanks for the tune.

    1. Haha, I know you love your warm temps, too! I"d be happy with 2 months of winter, 2 months of summer, and the rest could go to fall/spring.

  9. Nice song. When I get cold and need to be in my studio, I have an old hair bonnet I use to keep me warm. I removed the bonnet a long time ago. Instead I take the hose and tuck it in my blouse... warm and toasty ~ LOL.
