Who better to help a gal out this time of year than Santa? So.....
Dear Santa,
I've had a dining table I never really liked for 15 years. At one point, I even brought my outside patio set inside and used it in place of this dining table but quickly grew tired of that, as it was only a three-piece bistro set.
Years later, many of the chairs have been broken (what can I say? It was a cheaply made set in the first place), and it's time for me to replace it. So I would really like for you to bring me a new dining table. But by new, I mean new to me.
I was a sweetheart and already took the trouble of finding some possibilities for you:
Any of these tables will do....

.....but I am especially partial to this one, if you can find one with a similar design, and perhaps full-size instead of trailer-sized:

Tables only, though.....I should warn you that I can not commit to a particular era or style, so I need my stuff to not be perfectly matched....
So how about some of these Louis Ghost chairs in Smoke, like the picture, or a light aqua/green?

Or tulip chairs?

Yes, Santa, I know my style is completely weird. ("Eclectic" is what they're calling it these days in terms of design, though) But I wouldn't have it any other way!
And Santa? I have changed my mind. While I do still want all these lovely pieces of retro dining furniture, I have decided it would be easier for both of us if you just left me $100M instead. Easier for me, because with that money I can buy my own furniture. Easier for you because stacks of money will take up less room in your sleigh, will be easier on your back, and will actually fit under the tree.
Love,
Me
What do YOU hope Santa leaves under your tree?

Love, love your letter to Santa! New kitchen tables are always good. Ok lets be honest new furniture is always good! I don't even use my kitchen table except to hold junk, so mine is still almost brand new. Visiting from Mama Kat's!
ReplyDeleteMine's just holding junk right now, too.....but I'd use it a lot more if I liked it :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Love your "new to me" style. So cute. And those Louis Ghost chairs need to get in my house like ASAP.
ReplyDeleteI love vintage stuff most, but those Louis Ghost chairs *are* fabulous, aren't they? I saw David Bromstad use them on Color Splash in a modern eclectic dining room, and I've wanted them ever since.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Who knew something as simple as a table would be such a treasured joy?! I would also like a new table... one that don't have marker stains, sticky spots I can't get off and bite marks.
ReplyDeleteJen, my coffee table is the one that has all the stains and sticky spots.....and while it doesn't have bite marks, it does have gouges and other marks my kids made trying to whittle designs into it with flatware, their toys, etc, when they were little.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Oh, those are all so totally cute. What do I want Santa to leave me under the tree? Hmmmm, hard to say because I change my mind all the time. Something to do with writing I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI change my mind a lot, too. That's why I thought the money would be a better option ;)
DeleteYou need your own cute little dedicated office/writing room/workroom if you don't already have one - but hopefully you do get (or are able to procure) some tools and instruments to help further your writing career.
Thanks for stopping by!
Very eclectic, indeed. We have a retro chrome table with vinyl chairs in our kitchen that I bet you would like!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sure I would! I love the vinyl chairs a lot, too, and is probably what I'll end up with one of these days. Those tables and chairs used to be smaller, so they're great for smaller spaces even at full size.
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by!
Ha - love it! cold hard cash too please Santa...no one ever really gets what mama really wants.
ReplyDeleteand the trailer table with aqua Louis Ghost chairs -- awesome!!!
and I really think you'd need to find one of those table top mini jukeboxes too and it simply must play "Sugar, Sugar" by the Archies :)
Hahaha, I have that song on my music player! (And Nitty's "Nasty Girl," which uses the "Sugar, Sugar" music - and I'm not sure how well that would be received by fans of the original!)
DeleteI want that trailer table soooo bad...but in all my years of searching, it's the only one I've ever seen with that design. I'm beginning to think it must have been custom made.
Thanks for coming by!
Love it & I love that first chair!
ReplyDeleteWe have got to get a new table too--but I'm with you, I'd take the $100 million & I'll buy all my own chairs.
That $100M (and I'm honestly okay with *any* cash I manage to get!) would get me completely out of debt, let me pay my family back all they've done for me over the years, allow me to buy the material things I've always wanted but never bought, and I'd be able to help other people as well. I really need to hit that Powerball lottery one of these days!
DeleteIf I could hop in my time machine and rescue my Grandma's kitchen table from the dump, I'd totally give it to you. It was identical to table #2 except Harvest Yellow.
ReplyDeleteHope Santa is able to make room on his sleigh for you.
*clickin' in from MamaKat*
Aw, thanks, Nic! I would gladly take the table off your hands, too :)
DeleteWell, Santa won't be fitting a table and chairs into his sleigh for me, and I'm sure he won't bring me that kind of cash, either. But I am extremely lucky and blessed to be getting what I have.
I'll have my dream dining room one of these days!
Thanks for stopping by :)
Ooooh! The first one! Yes! Yes! Yes! *throws head back and bangs fists on table*
ReplyDeleteI'd truly be happy with any of them.
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by, Sue!
I love that tulip chair! I could see that in my daughter's room, in a deep purple!
ReplyDeleteI think that particular chair would work with any style, in any color.
DeleteThanks for stopping by :)
I love the retro tables, reminds me of a red metal kitchen table we had when I was a kid in the 50's. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteI love all things retro and wish my family had held onto more of their vintage furniture.
DeleteThanks for returning the visit, Banker Chick!
Those tables are great!! Love them! but I agree with you- I'll def take the money!!! :)
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Mama Kats!
Thanks for visiting, Vanessa! I hope you'll return soon!
DeleteI love how you generously offer to save Santa room in his sleigh by just bringing money instead. I FINALLY got to replace the dining room table I had for almost 15 years and hated. I hope Santa brings you one, too!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I try to think of the "little" things like that that are so important. And I try to be considerate, so money seemed the safer choice for all of us :)
DeleteI doubt I'll get a dining room table for Christmas, but hopefully I'll find one while scouring antique shops, flea markets, and thrift stores this spring.
Thanks so much for visiting my little spot!
