As usual, I spoke too soon.

But in my defense, my Weather Channel app says we're still warming up. The daylight hours may hint at spring, but at night it's ALL winter. How am I supposed to get motivated to exercise when it's cold, and all I want to do is bundle up, snuggle down, and eat comfort food?

Sure, that's what I want to do, but tomorrow I'll be calling one of my doctors, calling one of my lawyers, and visiting another lawyer. My life is so exciting! (But this kind of excitement I'll be glad to do without) Oh, and I'll be heading to the gym, too. Unfortunately, my body isn't going to just make itself hot again on its own, even though I am willing it to with everything I've got. So, when I can get to the gym, I need to be sure to give THAT everything I've got.

Even though I know the hard work will pay off eventually, I'd still much rather spend my day off tomorrow curled up in a chair, cuddled with a blanket and my doggy babies, sipping hot chocolate, reading, and sitting in front of this:

That's actually not my fireplace, but it is my Mother's. By the time I visit her later this month, hopefully it will be warm for good! But in the meantime, it warms me just looking at this picture.

Linking up at Wordful Wednesday.

  1. I've missed our old fireplace since we moved to Missouri. We didn't really need it in CA, but could really use it in MO. Every few days there is a promise of spring, then ooooh the cold.

  2. I'm getting cabin fever, too, and can't wait for spring. Going to the gym to work out sucks. I'd rather be outside playing to get my exercise. It got up to about 35F the other day, but it was sunny enough to stay warm... so my daughter and I headed outside and and "played". :) Hope you can do the same soon!

    1. Well...we're still having some pretty cold weather for March, and I'm tired of it! At least I did have a few days of decent temps to have fun with, though.

  3. I'm very much enjoying drinking coffee and writing/blogging by my fire. it's truly the best part of winter. that, and that my kids' like to go outside... and I have a big window to watch them from!

but yes also, as soon as I can have an entire week when no one is sick, I will be starting a new exercise routine.
    so says I. :)

    1. Coffee and a fire during winter is sooooo wonderful! I don't have a fire, but even just snuggled into a warm bed with warm doggies is amazing for me. If only I didn't have to go outside in it.....

  4. this weather is such a downer - cold and rainy and I'm curled up watching Dateline :-) Doctors, lawyers and more lawyers - UGH. Hopefully it will pass quickly.

After my Pilates "injury" I am searching for some other classes to take as I try to regain my hotness as well LOL

    1. Oh goodness, I didn't realize you'd had an injury! That sounds pretty painful. Hope all the doctor and lawyer woes pass quickly! I am having to talk to lawyers myself (not related to injury, though) so I know it sucks.
